Poised, proud and distinctive, she will leave a lasting impression. The weather in 2021 helped the vines produce a high-quality year.  Deeply coloured with an intense nose of concentrated berry jam fruit and lifted clove spice.  Supple tannins and well-balanced acidity has resulted in a good length wine with a slightly dry finish.  A quality year.

The Vision to Craft Exceptional Tamar Valley Pinot Noir

The Tamar Valley Vineyard

Vineyards are beautiful to drive through, but the reality is a labour of love. I have a small parcel of Pinot Noir vines in the Tamar Valley which are lovingly nurtured to allow me to craft small parcels of exceptional wine each vintage.

The Winemakers

World-class winemakers, crafting one wine from a tiny vineyard. Without the encouragement and skill of Julian, Ricky and Jeremy, the grapes wouldn’t have made it to the glass. A true collaboration to bring Black Rabbit to life.

It began with my love of wine.

I travelled to many great wine regions, then found my home and future vineyard overlooking the ebb and flow of the Tamar River in Northern Tasmania.

I plotted the vineyard, chose the three Pinot Noir clones, dug the holes and nurtured the vines. And the fleeting glance of a Black Rabbit sealed the fate of the name.
